Ghettos
Before the concentration camps they were sent to specific places called ghettos. These were the usually the size of a sq. block. They would put walls up and tell the Jews that they would have to live in these ghettos. They burned many books so that it would censorship the people under Hitler control. Germany made at least 1,000 ghettos. The Warsaw ghetto was the biggest ghetto that was around it had up to 400,000 Jews in this one ghetto.

Gas Chambers
Later in the process they started to use poison gas for mass extermination. They mainly used this gas on Jews that could not work in the concentration camps. They also had these things called gas vans. They would tell the Jews that they were going to the showers so they wouldn’t fight back. This stopped many rebellions against the Nazis’. 6,000 Jews were gassed at the camp of Auschwitz.
